Shops around the CDG area.

Hello folks. I visited Paris in 2006 and had a great time with my wife.

I have a 3 hour stopover at CDG en route to Dallas in December and was wondering if someone could advise of the shops outside of the airport. I remember passing a hugh IKEA building on the way in to town %26amp; from i recall from my last trip that most of the places outside the airport are industrial areas.

What i am looking for is a mall or shopping center within walking distance so that i may get my daughter a souvenir or two, preferably of the toy variety since shes 15 months old.

Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Regards.

There are no retail shops within walking distance from CDG (just as there are no such locations within walking distance from DFW). Travel to IKEA for example will require a car, as does visiting Grapevine Mills Mall from DFW.

While 3 hours may seem like sufficient time to venture out from CDG and explore; it is not. I recommend you do any shopping within the airport, the duty free stores might have a few things of interest to a 15 month old.

***DANGER***!!!, Will Robinson, ***DANGER***!!!!

With only a three(3) hour layover between your inbound flight and your outbound flight at CDG ***DO NOT***DO NOT***DO NOT*** (I%26#39;m not sure how to add rockets, flares and claxon to emphasize this point) stray so much as a millimeter from CDG If you want to %26#39;shop%26#39;, then make your way DIRECTLY (no detours en route) from your inbound flight%26#39;s arrival gate, to the security-controlled portion of your outbound flight%26#39;s Departure area....once inside this security controlled departure area, check out any Duty-Free shops that are there. Did I happen to mention that leaving CDG would be A REALLY BAD IDEA ??

LOl on the rockets, flares and claxon comment. Point taken. Sigh i was hoping to venture out. I ll try my luck at the duty free shops in the AP. Thanks for the replies to both.
