Cinemas

Are there any cinemas in central Paris that show the latest Hollywood film releases in their original language?

Yes, all MK2 movie theaters actually show movie in original version (VO in French). You will find them in various neighborhood (Saint-Germain, Beaubourg, Bastille, etc); Here is the list

and the location map here, where you may also check the programs : http://www.mk2.com/

The MK2 bibliothèque is very nice, the most trendy one, with bars and restaurants and a special chair for two designed especially for this movie theater:

surely %26quot;VO in French%26quot; indicates they have been dubbed. I think the inquiry is whether they are shown in English

|||

Well, only-lyon gave the right answer to the inquiry : as s/he wrote, VO means Version Originale - thus English version with subtitles (since we%26#39;re talking about Hollywood films).

|||

I think lynnb48 thought VO meant Voice over - and that she thought the movies had been dubbed. :)

|||

I learn something new each day. I did interpret at Voice over, not version originale.

|||

Lynnb - I%26#39;ve learned something new about VO simultaneously today !

|||

I wrote %26quot;in original version (VO in French)%26quot;

I thought it was pretty clear, obviously it was not, I should have typed it all: %26quot;original version (VO = Version Originale in French)%26quot;, that was actually the answer to the OP request : %26quot;latest Hollywood film released in their original language%26quot;.

Not at all your fault. I was leaping to conclusions.

In Paris, the designations for foreign (non-French) films are:

VO - The original language from the country where the film was produced but with French subtitles.

VF - Dubbed into the French language.
