UCPA, Val Claret, Tignes - Looking for a review!

Hi,

I%26#39;m staying in the UCPA HOSTEL in Tignes in a couple of weeks. I’m in a group of 4 blokes and we’re all in our (very) late 20%26#39;s.

Can anybody review this place?

It%26#39;s priced very competitively, is full board and includes gear and lessons etc..

Thanks in advance.

Hey, not sure if your plans are firmly booked but I%26#39;d suggest checking these guys out first (if you haven%26#39;t already) http://www.action-outdoors.co.uk

They are the official UK partners with the UCPA and can put together all-inclusive packages for cheap and more than likely get you into a room together. Super knowledgable about the accomodations and resorts and could definitely answer any questions you have about the UCPA. I%26#39;ve bought a few holidays from them and each one has been great. As for the UCPA center in Tignes, its ski-in/ski-out and has some great views...just a couple minute walk to the shops and bars. Check out the above website though, they can fill you in on all the details.

Cheers Outobounds,

We stayed there last Feb and will more than likely stay there again this season. It’s relatively inexpensive, clean accommodation, just where you want it, central to everything. Good food and a good atmosphere, cheap(er) beer! Perfect for youngish people for whom it’s more important to be near the bars and lifts than in a cabin with log fires and double beds. Its full board too, you can even ski down (to the door) for your lunch. If you plan on going too far to be back for lunch you can ask the chef to prepare you a lunch to take with you. This can be important because the mountain restaurants are not cheep!

I will checkout that website you posted. We booked directly with the UCPA on www.ucpa.fr. Their package includes 7 nights full board, lift pass for the whole region, 23h’s lessons and equipment rental. We booked our flights to Chambery (closest airport to Tignes) with www.skyscanner.net and car hire with www.travelsupermarket.com. All airport transfer companies we tried were very expensive, averaged about €200 each, as there were four of us it was much cheaper to hire a car – this worked out at about €50 each and included parking in Tignes for a week. We pre-booked the car-park. We also had the luxury of a car should we want it.

Cheers,

Yekrallum.
