Mid-day traffic on Thursdays on the Periphique?

We will be picking up our friends at CDG around mid-day two weeks from this Thursday and driving on to Chartres. I have driven in France on numerous occasions, but have to admit I have never driven near Paris. As a general rule, what is traffic like that time of day and week? Realizing of course that you can never know for sure what it will be like at any given time.

We were figuring between 1.5 and 2 hours travel time. Does that seem about right, depending on conditions?

Thanks!

I agree with your en route time of 1.5 to 2 hours but there really is no need to use the périphérique. Using A86 will bypass central Paris and make the drive a bit easier.

Are you starting off from Chartres?

Thanks Sarastro, that makes more sense. I had printed it off of Via Michelin already and they had us routed on the Peripherique instead of on the A86 like it is on Mappy. I printed that out instead.

Yes. We start in Chartres and from their will head south to Amboise for a few days touring the Loire Valley. Then we will head back to the Marriott in Marne La Vallee where we will stay for a week. Then we will head to Normandy and Mont St Michel for three days before flying home.
