Late arrival time, how to find a convenient hotel?

My flight arrives Nice Airport as late as 11:00 pm on January 26, 2009.

Any suggestion on how to find a hotel with free shuttle service or free car parking? I am afraid to take public bus to city center because late time and security concern. Budget limit is one of my major concerns.

Do you know what time car rental couners close at Nice Airport?

Car rental counters usually close at midnight but you won%26#39;t get good attention just before closing time. Personally I would book an airport hotel for 1st night (eg Etap)walking distance from terminals and organise from there the next day.Last Bus 98 will already have departed for Nice Centre Ville.

Do you really want/need a car in Nice? Public transport is excellent, cheap and reliable. A car is a liability, parking is a major problem and expensive, and as you claim to be on a budget, an unnecessary expense. If you must have a car collect it the day after arrival. You will be out of it on arrival and just want to get your head down not worry about a hire car at that time.

Thanks for great information. I read from TripAdvisor that the reception of this ETAP hotel close at 11:00pm. Is that true?

We stayed at the Campanile right across from Terminal 1 before leaving on an early flight. It couldn%26#39;t have been more than 5 minutes on foot.

It is basic but was clean, quiet and the staff

friendly and helpful.

The price was right too. I don%26#39;t know if their desk closes or not but most hotels have a bell you can ring after hours at the door.

An email to them will get the answer for you though.
