Tarbes

Hi all,

I will be going to Tarbes in December/January.

I can%26#39;t find much information about it on the internet, so I was wondering if anyone whose been there could tell me what its like.

I want to know anything you know!

Thanks,

Erin

Hi there,

My family will be visiting Lourdes and thought of going to Tarbes or Pau this December too.

Anyone has any suggestions which place is better? What to do in both places?

I heard Tarbes is a dull town. And Pau is better. Is it true?

Thanks

Julie

Shopping in Pau is cheaper. The people there are wealthier, so everything is cheaper.

I have French language courses in Tarbes. There is a fun Morning market on Thursdays. The Jardin Massey is really beautiful and fun to walk around in.

Pau has a castle to see.

Lourdes is a total tourist destination. Lots of religious significance, and lots of people go on pilgrimages there.

Thanks.

But which one has nice view of mountains or more serene?

Tarbes or Pau?

I prefer quieter town.

Tarbes.

It is a little smaller. You can get a great view of the mountains from ANY point in the area. I am in a small town outside of Tarbes, and every morning I wake up and see the Pyrenees. It is really nice.

Outside of the city, there are a lot of cows and pastureland and corn.

Hi!

Thanks a lot!

Any idea whether we can drive from Lourdes to Tarbes?

Is it an easy route if we drive? (Our first time driving there)

Any idea where to hire a car in Lourdes?

Thanks

It is really quick to drive between Pau Lourdes and Tarbes. They are all within an hour drive of each other.

Sorry, no Idea where to rent a car. There are car rental places all over the place though, it shouldn%26#39;t be too hard to find a place to rent one.

Bon Voyage et passe une bonne vacances a Tarbes.
