Hi Guys
I%26#39;m looking for some views on the best place to stay in the Tignes area. I%26#39;m looking for something close to the slopes and possibly half board.
There are six of us who are looking for an apartment/chalet for the week commencing 20/21 february 2009.
Any additional information would be appreciated i.e lift pass costs etc.
Thanks in advance
Jon M

I just directed someone else in this forum to these guys, http://www.action-outdoors.co.uk
Super cheap deals. I%26#39;ve used them a few times in the past and will again. Not chalet accomodation but the place they set you up in is fun and full of cool people.

Hi Jon,
You%26#39;ve got a whole host of options to be honest. There are catered chalets (half board), half and full-board hotels, self-catering apartments of varying sizes. And a lot of places in Tignes are close to the slopes as well - most are within walking distance of a lift, and the free resort bus service will sort you out for the remainder.
Personally I%26#39;d stay at the higher levels (Lavachet / Le Lac / Val Claret) rather than Les Boisses or Les Brevieres because the higher levels are better connected in terms of lift and bus systems. If you%26#39;re heart%26#39;s set on a cosy Alpine village feel though, then Les Brevieres would probably suit you better.
Most of what I know about accomodation in Tignes can be found on this info page (tignesie-tots.com/ContactFiles/WhereToStay.a…) of my wife%26#39;s now defunct nanny service. Hopefully it%26#39;ll be of help.
Oh - lift pass costs. They should be somewhere on the official tignes.net site, but I can%26#39;t find them right now. This page looks broadly accurate (www.ski-chalets-tignes.co.uk/lift_passes.asp) but I%26#39;ve not seen this winter%26#39;s printed leaflets yet to know if it%26#39;s spot on.
If you%26#39;ve got any more specific questions you can always message me and I%26#39;d be happy to help if I can.
Cheers,
Matt
