Tristan und Isolde at the Opéra Bastille

I went to experience - rather than see or hear - Tristan und Isolde yesterday at Bastille. Staged by Peter Sellars with video art by Bill Viola, and starring Clifton Forbis, Waltraud Meier and Ekaterina Gubanova.

To put it simply - it was mesmerizing. Since the intellectual rights on the videos is owned by the Tate %26amp; the MoMA, it will be the last time ever this production is staged. I can only commend it to all opera-lovers who will be visiting Paris at that time.
