Hi there, we will be visiting Carcassonne next year but wondered if anyone could reccomend a couple of places on the coastline, hopefully with a few good restaurants and bards that would be good to visit for a few days either side too. We will be travelling by train. Many thanks.

Leucate Plage. You will need a car to get there. Beach to die for and several good restaurants

If you are traveling to the beach area anyway, I recommend you visit Collioure just south of Perpignan, it%26#39;s worth taking the time. I assume you are talking about next summer because the beach areas on the west side of the Golfe du Lion are seasonal and rather empty in the off season. Additionally few (if any)have train service:
