YES...the PARIS VISITE Zone 1-6 transportation pass will work for fares between CDG (Zone 5) and PORTE DORÉE (Zone 1) and between PORTE DORÉE and VERSAILLES-Rive Gauche (Zone 4). BUT....you will need to purcahse a PARIS VISITE transportation pass valid for Zones 1-6 travel.
To get from PORTE DORÉE (#8 Metro ligne) to VERSAILLES-Rive Gauche station at the end-of-the-ligne for the RER %26#39;C-5%26#39; ligne (any %26#39;C%26#39; ligne train with a four-letter %26#39;..V xxx..%26#39; designation) you would have to make Metro or bus connections to any of the several RER %26#39;C%26#39; stations that run along the Left Bank of the Seine--Gare d%26#39;Austerlitz, Saint Michel-Notre Dame, Musée d%26#39;Orsay, Invalides, Pont de l%26#39;Alma, Champ de Mars-Tour Eiffel.
At a guess, the trip from PORTE DORÉE to VERSAILLES-Rive Gauche should take 60-70 mins....but this would be a good opportunity to use this as an %26#39;..exercise..%26#39; and INVEST some of your time and energy in %26#39;poking around%26#39; within the RATP web site, figuring out the site%26#39;s informational resources and many handy and practical planning features, as well as the routing(s) for yourself...to see what you come up with. It isn%26#39;t as if you aren%26#39;t going to have to figure out how to use the public transportation system to get around once you arrive in Paris.
