The Ventimiglia-Monaco-Nice-Cannes TER (local) trains are scheduled to improve from December 14. More trains and a regular interval service, covering more hours in the day: ter-sncf.com/Images/Cadencement_Les_Arcs-Vin…
Whether they%26#39;ll be any more punctual I wouldn%26#39;t know.

Thanks for that. And the nonsense of some trains not stopping at Villefranche has been scrapped. Wonderful!

Not quite. The faster Cagnes-Menton trains don%26#39;t stop at Villefranche. Moans in Italian newspapers have suggested that these services are to be new trains bought by the Monaco government, which doesn%26#39;t want them running over the border to Ventimiglia. Perhaps they don%26#39;t want them wasting time by stopping at Villefranche either!
But at least you should have a half-hourly service most of the day now.

Excellent news especially as the lunchtime gap seems to have disappeared. Guess the increased number of trains means that the chances of one turning up (even if it may not be quite on schedule) should improve too
Thanks for the info

Great news. Look at all the trains at night! You%26#39;ll have lots more choice for going out in Nice/Monaco and get back to Monaco/Nice. Trains every 30 mins even after 8pm.

As noted I believe His Serene Highness Prince Albert has been expanding his model train set to fund three or four new big trains complete with Monegasque livery. (Shame they can%26#39;t do something about the fares to compete with Lignes d%26#39;Azur or employ a few more SNCF ticket clerks at Nice Gare Ville, but you can%26#39;t have everything)
The good news I noticed in the schedule is that last train - actually running from Ventimille at 23.35 to Cannes La Bocca 00.59 When last I looked there was nothing out of Italy after nine-ish. That opens up all sorts of possibilities. But the last train bound for St Raphael remains a hopeless 20:16 at Nice St Augustin.
Thanks for the info!
