Hoeymoon question

We are staying on the Cinque Terre then heading to the French Riviera.

Can anyone tell me if Nice would be an ideal place to stay? Or is there somewhhere less touristy and nicer nearby?

I appreciate any info I can get.

Thanks

Beachboy

Beaches in France are very different from ours. Many are private and you hire an umbrella/lounges and rent time on the beach. From the roads near the beaches in Cote D%26#39;Azur you can see just a boardwalk and parked cars for the most part. Down at beach level there are all these private beaches, often with great little restaurants too, where you can eat your meal with your toes just about in the water.

I will say that driving through the Cote D%26#39;Azur was very congested and tedious. How you are travelling will make a difference to where you stay. Nice is very large but it does have a history and some quaint medieval areas to explore. We enjoyed Menton which had a very pretty old town and nice looking public and private beach areas. Villefranche sur Mer is supposed to be lovely and is a deep sea port.

However we are in our sixties. You need a response from someone young and groovy who can comment on the night life.

Beachboy80- what do you see as an ideal honeymoon place to stay?

Do you want to go out sightseeing , museums etc and if so what sort of thing are you interested in?

Nice is a great base and is very worth visiting in its own right and also has the option for night-life- bars, clubs etc
