Best Tour Company for Day Trips from Nice

Hi there,

We%26#39;ll be visiting Nice for 3 days in November and are interested in doing day trips to the villages and towns nearby. What is the best tour company to use. We prefer to do tours as we like to be given information on the places / towns we will be visiting. I%26#39;ve have found some company names - Tour Azur, Med-Tour and Startour. Thanks.

Guided Tours are very expensive, add little by way of value, and getting around by public transport is so cheap simple here there really isn%26#39;t much call for them. Some friends took a guided tour to Monaco and paid fifty times the bus fare basically to be chauffered a few miles in a minibus.

The only tour I can recommend is the Nice hop on hop off Grand Tour bus - every half hour, multilingual commentary, takes a couple of hours costs less than twenty euro as best I recall.

Nicelife, I checked few days ago for other guests the bus nicegrandtour, and I think you do not have in winter from 2 nov until march/april

Nice French Riviera,

Thanks for your message. Do you have a web address or contact details for Nice Prestige Excursions? Thanks.

We used Med-Tours in May 2007 for airport transfers. We also did an all day tour with Med-tours to Antibes, Cannes, Grasse, St. Paul de Vence and Tourettes-sur-loop.

The airport transfers worked out very well.

The mini-van tour went to the towns indicated in the brochure but we were very disappointed in the driver/guide. He only provided about 20 minutes of English commentary all day. If you want commentary and anecdotes about what you are seeing, make certain that the company will actually provide that service.

If it is important to you, find out the language skills of the driver/guide.

Also, the driver would drop us off and tell us where he would meet us later. While we did see quite a bit, it would have been nice to have had a short introduction to each town. We did meet the most charming police officer in Grasse who gave us directions.

We did ride the #100 Ligne d%26#39;Azur bus one day from Monaco to Beaulieu-sur-mer. We also rode the local buses in Monaco. Public transportation is very inexpensive and very good.

name : Jean Francois Daniel

unfortunately, I think his website is not ready yet but you can ask him some informations and he will send you some brochures.

you can tell me I give you his contact : laurent from eze

with medtours, sunnydays, tour azur.... it%26#39;s always the same problem, cheapest price but you never know in advance if the driver speaks fuently english, if he has a good experience....

so they drive you, drop off, wait you.... but not a lot of history

after it%26#39;s true they have a large choice and many departures everyday all year

Nice French Riveria,

I have e-mailed Jean Francois Daniel from Nice Prestige Excursions twice but I have not received any response.

On three separate occasions (years, actually) we have used the drivers/guides from Tour Azur. They have all been extremely pleasant, flexible, and knowledgeable -and spoke English very well. My husband poses a lot of questions, and these were (patiently) answered to our satisfaction.

|||

selbeep,

I tried to call him just now but it was this answering machine, I left a message.

may be, he is in holiday or very busy??

I will let you know if I have more information.
