This will be a friend and I%26#39;s first trip to Paris (are in our mid-twenties) and neither of us have much metro experience (me: a few times in Rome, her: none) We will be arriving at 2pm (1400) after a layover in Amsterdam from the US. Our hotel is at 15 Rue Pascal, in the fifth. Is it feasible to take the RER B in and exit Luxembourg, and then walk with our luggage to the hotel? The hotel said the closest metro to it is Censier-Daubenton, but I%26#39;d prefer not to change at Chatelet ( I heard it%26#39;s horrible!)I%26#39;d also be open to any other possible routes we could take.
Merci!

I think it%26#39;s too far to pull luggage from the RER-B line to your address (over a kilometer).
You could get off the RER at Gare du Nord, change to metro Line 4 to the METRO stop Chatelet (not the RER Chatelet-les-Halles), and switch to your metro line 7 for your stop at Censier-Daubenton. The two lines seem to correspond at the same end of the station.
Or you could depart RER-B at Denfert-Rochereau (or maybe Port Royal) and take a taxi to the hotel.

If you were going to walk then the RER stop Port Royal is probably slightly closer than Luxembourg. However, I%26#39;m inclined to agree with Travelnutty that it would be a little too far to carry your luggage. I reckon it would take c. 20 mins even without luggage.
An alternative would be to take the bus after the RER. Either the 27 from Luxembourg (Direction: Port d%26#39;Ivry Claude Regaud) or the 91 from Port Royal (Direction: Bastille).

What did you end up doing? Did you like the hotel? I am thinking of staying there in Nov. Please advise.

We actually ended up taking the RER to Port Royal and walking. We planned on trying to find a taxi and taking that to the hotel, but there weren%26#39;t any to be found. It%26#39;s only about a 10 minute walk, it%26#39;s a good neighborhood, and all we had was one rolling suitcase each and a backpack. I would think it would just depend on the number of people in your party and the amount of luggage you have.

It%26#39;s too late to do you any good.....but not every Metro or RER station has a regular taxi rank right there. But the official Paris taxi fare structure provides for an ;..minimum fare..%26#39;, regardless of the distance or amount shown on the meter. This %26#39;minimum fare%26#39; is 5,70€. So depending on your final destination address, you can take Metro or RER to a relatively nearby station, that does have a regular taxi rank (in this case LUXEMBOURG or DENFERT-ROCHEREAU) take a taxi from there to one%26#39;s final destination...and given the minimum fare, not have the onward taxi ride to the destination address actually cost any more than from a nearer station.

Thank you. Did you like the hotel de l%26#39;esperance? Did you choose a shower or bath?
