SNCF booking help required..

We are trying to book train tickets to Southern France, some of the tickets do not allow us to print here at home. They allow us to pick up at the train station automated ticket machines. Someone mentioned that they do not allow you to use the machines unless you have a French credit card. Has anyone used one of these machines? Is there a ticket counter option How does it work? We have Canadian credit cards, if our credit cards do not work on the automated ticket machines what other options do we have? Thank you in advance.

Yes, there are manned counters you can go to in most train stations. Be sure to bring the credit card you used when you bought your tickets online. You should have received a confirmation number when you booked the tickets. I normally print that confirmation out. Bring that and the credit card to the ticket counter and presto, the staff will issue you your tickets.

Just bumping this thread to ask if you can collect tickets right before travel, despite booking them two months earlier?

I%26#39;m sure I read somewhere that you had only a week or so to pick them up?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, you can pick them up until a few minutes before the train leaves the station. It%26#39;s not recommended, though. Lines at the ticket counter are long and unpredictably slow. If possible, pick up your tickets a day or two before departure. Be sure to bring 1) the credit card used for purchase 2) order # from confirmation e-mail.
