I will be in Paris next week and am wondering if there are a lot of restaurants with outside heaters or if someone could tell me any that they know of. I prefer to eat outside. Thanks!

Plenty of gas heaters for outside eating. Typically the smokers are the outside eaters so if you don%26#39;t mind some smoke, you will have no problems.

I think of the heaters more for cafes and brasseries rather than full-scale restaurants. But in this category most places do have them, so you can eat outside.

It%26#39;s true that many of the more casual restaurants with terraces and cafes have outdoor heaters. But, if you%26#39;re close enough to them for the benefit, they%26#39;re too hot! Sort of like sitting by a fire - sweltering near the fire, but still very cold otherwise. And, your food gets cold very quickly!

You can always tell which have heaters...the people sitting there have much too little on for the way the temperature seems to you on the street. Most have them, though.

The number of cafes and bistros with outside heaters has increased drastically since the law banning all smoking inside such places was introduced. As already noted, it is the only place where the smokers can go.
On the television news tonight it mentioned that there are a number of politicians who are now suggesting that these outside heaters are not a good thing, in that they are increasing CO2 emissions; and that perhaps there ought to be some control on them!
