Hotel Everland Tips

This will only be of interest to a very few TA%26#39;ers and make about as much sense as that space invaders post to most. However, it might just help someone out there - I%26#39;ve just failed to get a room at the Everland but I thought I%26#39;d list my a few tips from my experience that might help some other chancer:

1) The website is of course, on Paris time (1 hour ahead of UK time, 6 hours ahead of Eastern Time, 9 hours ahead of Pacific Time) e.g. I%26#39;d start checking to see if the booking engine was active at 6pm EST.

2) The website states that the booking engine opens at a random hour, and it is exactly on the hour (i.e. either 1am, 2am, 3am...9pm, 10pm etc) so you just goto the site maybe a minute or so before each hour on the day specified and press refresh (F5 on PCs, Command+R on Apple) until the booking engine opens or until it%26#39;s a few minutes after the hour and you realise that this isn%26#39;t the random hour.

3) When the booking engine does open, the booking page text will change text, saying what is included with the room (king-size bed, bathroom, lounge, breakfast delivered to the room, free mini-bar, 2 embroidered bathing towels, record player with a special record collection, ipod connection/airtunes, Wlan for free Internet access.) and the rates as well as the instructions (in red) stating %26#39;please fill out this field%26#39; - under that instruction is a pulldown with one date available. As quickly as possible, select the date.

The next page (which the site states is 2 of 5 steps) you are prompted to fill in the following fields (mandatory fields have a * next to them):

Title

First Name*

Last Name*

Address*

Zip code*

City*

Country*

Phone*

Fax

Email*

Comments

Fill the mandatory fields in as quickly as possible and hit submit, as you are competing against others, and not until you get to step 5, is the booking guaranteed! The first time I tried, I put something in the comment field and it cost me a reservation! (I got the prompt %26#39;Sorry, Someone has just booked for that date%26#39;

The 3rd step is where you are requested to confirm the information you just entered and then you have one of those %26#39;enter the word that appears in the box%26#39; so do so quickly and press submit.

I was unable to get passed this point without being told that the room had already been booked. I assume the 4th page would have been credit card info and 5th page would be another confirmation page. Best Of Luck!

Hello, Everland hunters:)

I managed to catch the booking even twice and have had a choice to catch the booking more times.

I can tell you, that the 4 step is to enter some letters or numbers and when you submit that, then you get a reply that you are the lucky one, who has booked the room. The confirmation is sent to your mail.

Later they get in contact with you and you have to give your cc details for payment. You have to pay the room in advance. If you don%26#39;t do that, your booking is canceled.

That is true- you have to be quick to get the booking, except when the random hour is very early in the morning.

For anyone wondering what or where the HÔTEL EVERLAND is ??%26gt;....it is a single (1) hotel room %26#39;..module..%26#39; that has been hoisted up atop and temporarily %26#39;..installed..%26#39; on the roof of PALAIS de TOKOYO...as part %26#39;hotel%26#39;/part contemporary art %26#39;installation%26#39;. It was %26#39;installed in September, and will remain perched atop the Palais de Tokoyo, until sometime in spring, 2009....before moving on to some other installation location. It%26#39;s definitely a hoot.
