Aix to Gare de Lyon (TGV) - Gare de Lyon to CDG? RER?

Next month I need to go from Gare de Lyon to CDG (Terminal 2B) on a Friday morning around 9:30. I%26#39;ll be arriving from Aix en Provence on a TGV train around 9:20. Looking at the RER map, it seems there might be more than one option. Can anyone tell me if one route is faster than the other, how often the trains run and how long it might take?

I know there is a TGV train from Aix direct to CDG, however the direct train doesn%26#39;t leave early enough.

Also, does the TGV share the same station as the RER?

I%26#39;ve been googling this info for a while now, so if anyone can help, I%26#39;d appreciate it.

Thanks.

There is a RER station at Gare the Lyon. You will have a connection on RER to get to CDG. Connection from line A or D. I don%26#39;t have the fastest one for you sorry.

What is your flight time at CDG?

You could get a train ticket with a transfer in Lyon. TGV from Lyon to CDG every hour. Trainbs leaving from AIX to Lyon start at 5:00AM or so.

My flight is at 12:35.

Do you know if the TGV and the RER trains stop at the same station at Gare de Lyon?

The short answer is that for train arrival time at PARIS-Gare de Lyon at 09:20 AM and a flight depature time from CDG at 12:35 PM...the odds are slim to non-existent that you will be able to make your flight connection. You need either an earlier train arrival time at Gare de Lyon..or a later flight departure time from CDG...or another TGV connection from Aix-en-Provence to get you to CDG earlier.

Their is indirect RER train service from GARE de LYON to CGG via RER %26#39;A%26#39; ligne train to CHATELET-Les HALLES then transfer over to RER %26#39;B%26#39; ligne train to CDG. In practical terms, this transfer will probably take approx. 60 minutes.

There is also direct #4-Les Cars Air France Coach bus service, departing from across the plaza in front of Gare de Lyon to CDG. This bus service will probably take approx. 60 minutes.

It might be possible that when you arrive at CDG, that there is a lull at your airline%26#39;s check-in counter for baggage check and check-in procedures and you swan-on through..and that there is also a lull in the various airport security checks that you may have to pass through entering the terminal and making your way to your flights departure gate after check-in....but I%26#39;d sooner bet on a three-legged horse to sweep next year%26#39;s Triple Crown races. You will NEED to allow three(3) hours for check-in and security at CDG. If you do not allow sufficient time for procedures and protocols at CDG, NO ONE BUT YOURSELF IS RESPONSIBLE for a missed flight....and the lost reservation or change fees for re-booking/re-ticketing.

There is TGV service from AIX-EN-PROVENCE TGV station at 05:42 AM, with a train change en-route at AVIGNON TGV station, that gets you to AEROPORT CDG 2 TGV at 09:30 AM. This is the connection that you need to book. a 05:42 AM departure may be inconvenient for you...but it%26#39;s either that or accept the highly likely potential of missing your outbound flight at CDG...which is very likely to be a LOT more painful, in a LOT more ways.

The TGV and RER are in the same station complex at Gare de Lyon, but the RER platforms are underground.

Okay kdksail, 5:42 it is. I love the morning. I love making my flight a probability even more.

Thanks.
