Restaurants in Place de la Madeleine area

I will be staying in the Hotel Bedford close to the Place de la Madeleine. Could anyone tell me of any good reasonable priced restaurants close by.

Has anyone had food in the hotel and was it good?

Thank you for your help.

Although I didn%26#39;t personally make it there on my last trip, I understand you can have wonderful pastries, breakfast, lunch or brunch at Laduree. It is located on Rue Royale right near the Place de la Madeleine. Others swear by their macarons - it%26#39;s on my list to try when we return in May.

Here%26#39;s their website:

Select the location called Laduree Royale and you will find a full menu of what they have on offer and the prices.

Have a nice trip.

There is a nice wine bar located 15 place de la Madeleine : l%26#39;Ecluse

They offer very good Bordeaux wines and good food. I like the welcoming team and nice atmosphere mainained despite the success of the company that has become a concept with several bistrots all around Paris.

I also support Ladurée suggestion, but more for an afternoon tea with yummy macarons or pastries than for a lunch.

Thanks both, the Laudree menu looks really nice.

Pmmcto - I will think of you when I’m eating my macaron next week!

Chez Cecile is nearby on Rue Vignon. We had dinner there last Thursday and enjoyed it very much. As a %26quot;bonus%26quot; on Thursday evenings a small band plays jazz. It is moderately priced although for 2 of us we managed to spend about 140 euros total but we had a bottle of wine and 2 drinks including my quite expensive kir royale. When will I ever learn not to order one of those!!!

For lunch our favorite is Le Souffle on rue du Mont Thabor, down toward the Tuilleries.

When I am in that neighborhood at lunchtime, I sometimes eat upstairs at the Vin Nicolas wineshop. They offer simple meals (a plat du jour, cheese plates, sausage/pate plate, salads, etc) as well as a nice selection of wine by the glass. Prices are very reasonable; some of the wine costs as little as 1, 90 euros (about $2.50). The shop is right on the Place de la Madeleine. There are other restaurants on the Place, but most of them are a bit pricey.
