When we went to Florence two years ago, we took a guided day tour via bus to the Chianti area for wine tasting, etc. We%26#39;re going to Paris and would like to arrange something similar on one of our days there (although not necessarily a wine tour). It%26#39;s our first trip to Paris, so what would be some great options to give us the flavor for an area outside Paris? Perhaps Chantilly? We won%26#39;t have a car, so a guided bus tour would be ideal (I know we could take a train and do it ourselves, but we do like the idea of a guided tour). Thanks.

I did the bus tour of 3 chateaus in the Loire Valley through Paris Vision and really enjoyed it.
You might also check viator.com to see if they have any additional options or different prices.

We have taken tours with Cityrama and Parisvision. ew enjoyed them all very much. We went to the Loire, Brugges, Rheims and the Normandy D day beaches. I am sure it is not that hard to do these on your own, however, with our limited time in Paris I felt it was just easier for us to take the guided tours.

I like your web site !!

Oh Merci a bunch then!
I must update it with all the outstanding testimonials of crying Americans thanking me for my friendliness, my sophistication and my arrogance!
It%26#39;s always neat to have good comments! Thanks again!
I also should find a way to appear as a Paris attraction here on tripadvisor...

Be careful you do not get bumped for self dealing. I like your humorous arrogance.

PARISVISION and CITYRAMA are probably the largest escorted tour operators in Paris...and offer a wide range of escorted tour options. They also offer some of their tours via smaller mini-van--as opposed to large motorcoaches--with necessarily smaller groups. The mini-van tours, though a bit more expensive, will be the better option, if available.

CITYRAMA--

It%26#39;s also worth noting that some tours are only available %26#39;seasonally%26#39;....as example: Monet%26#39;s Home %26amp; Gardens and Musée d%26#39;Art Américain at Giverny are closed from Novermber through March, so tours including Giverny will not be available in winter.

I went on a tour with CityRama where a van picked my up at my apartment in the 20th and took me to their office where everyone boarded onto a big bus for the tour. When the bus returned that evening, there was a van to take me back to my apartment. In addition, I think I got a 10% AAA discount. It was a great deal.

Thanks for all the information. While I like the idea of spending the night somewhere out in the countryside, it would probably be too much of a hassle -- unless we wanted to pay for our Paris hotel room AND for the night out. Otherwise, we%26#39;ll have to pack everything up, then re-check into the hotel. So I think we%26#39;ll stick with a day trip or two. Sounds like you can do a lot in a day and return to the Paris hotel at night with no problem.
