Exploring Brittany on foot

Hey everyone, I%26#39;m new to this place so please excuse any faux pas I may make.

I%26#39;m a lowly and poor college student with only my feet and clothes looking to take my other half on a day trip to Brittany. I live near Exeter, Devon and shall be taking a ferry from Plymouth to Roscoff (via Brittany Ferries), looking to spend one whole day in the region.

From what I%26#39;ve been led to believe, Roscoff isn%26#39;t all that pleasant so I wanted to take a bus/train/something to somewhere else. My problem is that I don%26#39;t know what places in Britanny are nice and with only the morning until 10pm (which is when I need to be on the ferry home), I don%26#39;t have an immense amount of time to spend on public transport.

I%26#39;d be grateful if you could help me out a bit, i.e. where to go, what kind of things are nice, etc. I know I%26#39;m being vague, but it%26#39;s hard to be detailed in my situation, and I%26#39;m not looking for an incredibly detailed reply.

Oh and by the way, we%26#39;re not the types of young people old folk might imagine, you know, the clubbing types or the types that hang around on street corners making a night of a bottle of white lightning, so if you could point out things like restaurants, artsy things, and the like. That%26#39;s more our type of thing.

So yeah, thanks.

Tom
