Weekend in Paris end November

Hello everyone!

My boyfriend surprised me today with weekend trip to Paris. We fly from Canada on Friday night (Nov. 28th) and back on Monday (Dec.1st) around 12am

Any ideas of romantic get away (restaurants, places to visit etc.) for few days in Paris are highly appreciated.

Merci beaucoup, Masha

I have just read a mouthwatering review of a French restaurant in the 15e arrondissement called Beurre Noisette.

Have not been yet myself yet but intend to try this month. Has a Michelin Red Bib so considered very good value for money and good food. Is old fashioned bistrot style but brought up to date by a new chef. Menus at Eur 22 - 30 lunchtime or Eur 32-40 evenings.

68 rue Vasco da Gama, 75017.

Tel: +33 1 48 56 82 49.

Other than that a walk on the rive gauche starting at the Pantheon and going west is wonderful or maybe a trip to Versailles?

I would respectfully disagree with the OP about a trip to Versaille for two reasons. First, your time in Paris is too short to spend a day away and second, in winter, you won%26#39;t get the full effect of Versaille. The gardens won%26#39;t be in bloom.

You might walk over to the Pont des Artes with a nice bottle of wine to enjoy a romantic sunset. Walk through the Luxembourg Garden for a short while. It%26#39;s beautiful.

If you don%26#39;t want to spend any of your limited time inside the Louvre, do make sure to walk through the Carrousel and the courtyard where the pyramid is. It%26#39;ll make you KNOW you%26#39;re in Paris.

Dinner at La Souffle at 36 r. Mont Thabor, just out of the Place de la Concorde is a wonderful all-souffle restaurant. Again, you%26#39;ll KNOW you%26#39;re in Paris. You may prefer a small bistro. Le Souffle is a white-tablecloth sort of place. Le Timbre on 3 r. Sainte Beuve in the 7th is a tiny (I mean TINY) place you%26#39;d like. Google both places for phone numbers and make reservations when you get to Paris, even if it%26#39;s for the same day. You%26#39;ll be greeted a bit more warmly with reservations as opposed to a drop-in.

I%26#39;ll be in Paris at the same time. I%26#39;ll watch for you :)

Thank you for answers. Yes, as much as I would love to go to Versailles, I don%26#39;t think it is a good time (short time, no fountains, no beautiful trees and flowers).

I have few questions...

Did any one go to Mullin Rouge recently? How is it?

Are there any river cruses at this time? Does it make sense?

Where to go for best view, Eiffel Tower or Notre Dame?

Is there anything going on in Montmartre at this time?

If you%26#39;re into wine and looking for something different, there%26#39;s a wine expo (independent winemakers) at the Porte de Versailles that weekend. I was there last year, and while admittedly not romantic, it was fun and different. I wish it was coinciding with my trip the following weekend, but alas, it is not.

Dear Masha,

My partner and I are going for a romantic weekend away this weekend, and are planning on the moulin rouge amongst others. Look out for my trip report mid next week and if theres anything in particular you have read about I%26#39;d be happy to try to get to it on our (long) list - at least for a look :)

A river cruise would be a fun thing to do one evening. Try vedettesdupontneuf.com for a discount coupon. Vedettes du Pont Neuf leaves from the Sq Vert Galant on the western tip of Ile de la Cité. There is a (seasonal) schedule of departures on the web site as well.

You might head over to the Trocadero for a terrific view of the Eiffel Tower. It%26#39;s a good place for pictures if you%26#39;d like to take some. It%26#39;s just across from the Eiffel Tower. There%26#39;s a good restaurant there by the name of Café de l%26#39;Homme. You might luck out and get a table with an ET view. You can make a reservation at 01 44 05 30 15.

I might save Montmartre for another trip. You%26#39;ll have quite enough to keep you busy in the city center. Others may disagree, but I think you%26#39;ll be running around too much if you try to make it to Montmartre this trip.
