Hotel Price de Galles-Champs Elysee

My boyfriend and I will be flying into Charles De Gaulle Nov 26 and staying in the Price De Gaulle hotel through the 28th before taking off for Amsterdam.

Never having been to paris before, I%26#39;m curious to know the best/most cost effective way to get from the airport to the hotel. Keeping in mind we will just be getting off an international flight from the states, less hassel is better. Yet we are budget consciencious and do not want to waste. I need suggestions on: 1) The best form of transportation to our Hotel 2) the best sights to visit in our two day trip in Paris 3)The best recommendation for traveling from Paris to Amsterdam(my guess is the Thalys.

Any additonal suggestions, tips, advice is very welcome.

To clarify, are you staying at the %26quot;Prince de Galles-Paris Champs-Elyées%26quot; on 33, Avenue Georges V?

For an overview of CDG-Airport transportation options, visit the appropriate Inside Page:

We can only share options. Only YOU can decide what%26#39;s best for your specific needs. The metro is cheapest. That%26#39;ll be a bit tricky because the closest metro stop, Georges V, is only on Line 1. RER B, the suburban line connecting CDG to the city, only connects to Line 1 at Chatelet-les Halles. Chatelet is an extremely large and busy station - the last place you want to be after a long international flight!

I would perform the following workaround:

1) RER B to Gare du Nord

2) Take a cab from here to the hotel

That way, you would save on cab fare by taking public transport into the city limits. At the same time, you wouldn%26#39;t have to worry about changing metro lines.

As for sightseeing, two days isn%26#39;t nearly enough time to visit a third of the sights in Paris. Can you stay longer? If not, try the itinerary suggested by this author:

You will need strong feet and a map of the metro:

Paris-Amsterdam: Thalys is the way to go. Book now on http://www.thalys.com/fr/en/ . Leave the country of collection at FRANCE. If given the option, print your tickets at home. Otherwise, collect them at the ticket counter of any big train station in Paris.
