Hello
I%26#39;m driving from South Tuscany to London in a couple of weeks time (around 2nd - 3rd week in November) and wondered what is the best route/where are the nice places to stop overnight. I plan on taking about 3 or 4 days to get back, stopping off at a different place each night. I%26#39;m very into photography so am keen to stop off enroute for any good photo opportunities (I don%26#39;t mind a slight detour for unmissable places!)
Any tips would be greatly appreciated as I have nothing planned at the moment. I am also posting this in the Swiss and French forums. Many thanks.

Hi Newadventurer !!
Thats a great drive. You could drive the coast of Italy and France, and head north thru Provence and the Annecy area, Very scenic along the coast, and some beautiful scenery near Annecy
You could go up the Italian coast, thru the Italian lake area, Como, Lugano, Maggiore, thru the Alps and north from Geneva, but there could be snow, but spectacular scenery, or a
combination of both.
Have a scenic trip !!

thanks for the tips. The lakes is a good suggestion. Have decided to travel up to one of the small lakes (Orta) near Lake Maggiore and then head home. Unfortunately i%26#39;ve just found out my car insurance doesn%26#39;t cover Switzerland so i think i%26#39;ll head over through Mont Blanc tunnel and then up through France that way.

Coming from the Mont Blanc tunnel, you could make a stopover in Lyon on your way to Paris: it is an interesting city with a rich historical background, roman ruins, a beautiful Renaissance district, and an historical silk industry; also famous for its gastronomy; have a look:
