I have stayed in Le Marais a few times but not yet found a hotel I would return to - any recommendations 2/3/4 star. Would like a room big enough to walk round the bed!

the rooms are big at that Hotel Lyon Mulhouse place or whatever its called....
I really liked Hotel Bastille Speria, but I live in under 500 square feet so the meter (3 feet?) around the sides of bed and meter+ (4 feet?) at foot were fine for me. They do have bigger rooms. Considering the single rooms in some places in Europe that are as wide as an army cot and 14%26quot; suitcase, this was palatial to me!

I had the pleasure of staying at the Pavillon de la Reine, a lovely 4 star on the Places des Vosges, in September. I would definitely return if budget was not an issue. My deluxe room had enough room to walk around the bed (barely) but the hotel also has larger rooms and suites.

The Hotel du Marais (2bis rue Commines, 3rd arr.) has good value, fair-sized rooms with plenty of space all round the bed. When I was in Paris a couple of months ago I stayed somewhere more expensive because I was treating someone, but it did occur to me that at more than twice the price it wasn%26#39;t worth the difference, chic though it was, and the rooms weren%26#39;t any bigger. So next time it%26#39;s back to the du Marais.
Despite what a recent reviewer says about %26#39;rude%26#39; staff, I found the complete opposite. Maybe its a question of staff reflecting one%26#39;s own attitude.

This is a link to Hotel des Chevaliers du Marais. This room appears to have plenty of room.

Thank you all - aren%26#39;t these forums marvellous?

I was staying in the Marias 2 - 6th November and walked past the Hotel des Chevaliers numerous times. Through the window the guests seemed to be enjoying breakfast and I noted it as a place to check out.
Hotel Jeanne D%26#39;Arc is also a recommendation although I%26#39;m not sure on the room sizes.

I%26#39;m just about to post my apartment review of the Marias apartment we stayed in which, at 200 euros a night, was a much better option than hotels in the same range.

You can PM me if you have any questions or post on the forum. The reason for posting an apartment review here was because of some of the negative experiences that people have.

I stayed twice at the Jeanne d%26#39;Arc hotel and both times had a large room. To be sure you get a very large room, I recommend you book a triple room for 146€ (you will have a double bed an an other bed that you could use as a couch and you%26#39;ll appreciate the extra space).

The location close to Place du Marché Sainte Catherine is excellent. It is a 2* budget hotel, nothing to be compared to Pavillon de la Reine of course, but it is good value for money.
