Bus trips to Fecamp

I am trying to get to the Benedictine Distillery in Fecamp from Rouen. From what I gather on line, I can take a bus (approx 1.5 hours).

I can%26#39;t find any additional info on the details though - anyone know any more about it? We would be headed there as early as possible on Sunday 11/30. Is the distillery even open on Sunday%26#39;s?

Thanks!

The distillery is closed on Sundays but guided tours continue none the less. You can still visit the production facilities, discover what herbs combine to formulate the final product, and sample a glass at the end of the tours, but you are otherwise alone at the plant. This might have some advantages.

I recommend you check the opening times as some days have a 3 hour tours break around noon:

Fecamp is a beautiful if not somewhat remote location so travel options are probably limited. (I have only visited by car.) Unfortunately, you do not state from where you will be taking a bus so I will be unable to offer suggestions.

Thank you!

We will be coming from Rouen. The main reason for us going is to purchase some of the Single Cask, so as long as the store is open that is all we care about :)

According to the website, it is open every day from 10am.

Yo could do it by train in just over an hour though it involves a change at Breaute, which is probably straighforward. Leaving Rouen at 8.49 would get you at Fecam just before 10.00 and there are later options. See www.voyages-sncf.com.

Thank you! That website is not working for me in English, and unfortunatly, my French is not that great.

If you are interested in rail transportation:

1. go to www.voyages-sncf.com

2. fill in %26quot;départ%26quot; with ROUEN, fill in %26quot;arrivée with FECAMP, select a date on the drop down calender and click the red %26quot;RECHERCHE%26quot;

3. On the next screen, locate the following segment found in the URL (the address window at the top of your browser) %26quot;LANG=FR%26amp;_AGENCY%26quot;. Change only that portion to read: LANG=UK%26amp;_AGENCY

4. You may now continue to book or check schedules in English.

Thank you! I will check it out.

travelbrat2007~ I can%26#39;t help you transportation wise, but my husband %26amp; I were at the Benedictine Distillery just last month. It%26#39;s ok, nothing to write home about. It%26#39;s a beautiful mansion - not that old. The area of Fecamp is very pretty. Beautiful architecture. One observation I do have though - We bought some B%26amp;B to bring back to the cottage we were staying at, and we noticed that the B%26amp;B was quite different tasting than the B%26amp;B we buy here in Vancouver. It was a lot more %26quot;spicy%26quot; and not so sweet. It really was different. I liked it very much.I%26#39;m wondering if they make it slightly different on purpose for the North American market. Anyone else notice this?? I%26#39;m curious.

Good luck with your travel plans. Can you get a car? If so, let me know and I%26#39;ll tell you about the car trip we did!

Thanks!

We are actually going just to purchase the Benedictine Single Cask. I was there years ago, and discovered this drink. They do not export it so you have to go to the distillery to get it. I used to be able to find it in Paris, but over the past few years we have not been able to find it.

I%26#39;m traveling with the company that I work for, and one of the Program Directors for the trip is from Fecamp so I will pick his brain before we head out!
